Big Data Challenges?

Join us at Convergence Sydney, 22 June at 8.30am at The Westin Sydney.

Whether you need to innovate, improve efficiencies or mitigate risks, at Convergence we’ll solve your data challenges together.

Convergence Sydney is a half-day event focused on enterprise data opportunities and challenges, that brings together data professionals from a wide range of industries in a vibrant discussion.

At Convergence, you will discover emerging use cases, explore best practices, and optimal use of data through analytics and machine learning regardless of data location – on-premises, in cloud, or at the IoT edge.

Industry experts and technology providers such as MapR, NTT DATA Business Solutions, Attunity, Cisco & Talend will share their experience on critical data challenges, including analytics, the emergence of intelligent applications to operationalise data, and an agile strategy for cloud and containerized infrastructure.

Agenda

8:30am - 9:00am: Registrations

9:00am - 9:15am: Introductions and Welcome

9:15am - 9:45am: Identifying & exploiting the keys to digital transformation
MapR, Tom Fisher, EVP and CTO

Leading companies are integrating operations and analytics to make real-time adjustments to improve revenues, reduce costs, and mitigate risks. There are many aspects to digital transformation, but the timely delivery of actionable data is both a key enabler and an obstacle. Tom will share how companies from Nine Entertainment and other customers use event-driven processing to transform their businesses.

9:45am - 10:15am: The Big Data Pathway
NTT DATA Business Solutions, Dimitri Zarganakis, Innovation Lead

Never before have we understood so much about what’s on people’s minds, as they share their lives on digital channels. Added to that is the explosion of data generated by IoT devices, plant equipment and other machinery 24/7. The result is an ever-increasing volume of communications from both the natural and made-made worlds in video, audio, text and data streams.

Having a ‘big data’ strategy to tap into this wave of digital communication is essential if you want to create and exploit new opportunities. But what is the right starting point, and what steps should you take? What capabilities are required?

In this presentation, you’ll discover where to start, and how to put in place an effective big data strategy.
